Dr. Joel Bessmer
Dr. Bessmer earned his Medical Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he also completed his internship and residency programs. Dr. Bessmer is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. While at UNMC, he led the creation of the Personal Service Medical Program, the first model of concierge medicine in the city. In 2010, this program became Members.MD. In 2022, Members.MD is now Omaha’s premier, independent concierge medicine practice.
Dr. David Stearnes, DO
Dr. David P. Stearnes is a highly regarded general internist in Omaha. He earned is medical degree from Des Moines University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. Having completed his residency training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his practice and his patients. Dr. Stearnes is board-certified in internal medicine and made a positive impact on many patients during his association with Nebraska Methodist Health System for 16 years. He joined Members.MD in 2023 because he wanted to be able to spend more time with his patients and focus on preventive care and building strong patient relationships.
Dr. Jyoti Majapatra, MD
Dr. Jyoti Mahapatra is from Lincoln, Nebraska, and has lived in Omaha since 2006. She is a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician and has practiced with UNMC for 15 years. Dr. Mahapatra’s practice at Members.MD unites her passion for wellness with patient care. She shares her passion for personal wellness and balancing personal and professional lives with her patients. She empowers patients to keep their health and well-being a priority.
Dr. Matthew Bott, MD
Dr. Matthew Bott grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and is a lifelong Husker football fan and a Creighton basketball fan. He trained at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, where he completed his residency in Family Medicine. Dr Bott believes that a patient’s health requires a holistic approach by addressing all aspects of their life. He is passionate about disease prevention and health promotion and finding unique ways to help his patients reach and maintain their goals.
Strategic Objectives
Our goal is to grow responsibly while preserving the high-touch care model. Strategically, we’re expanding our executive health program to compete with the program currently offered at our University system. We also would like to refine our membership levels to reflect different “tracks” e.g. “wellness”, “longevity”, etc. Long-term, we believe the Omaha market can support an 8-physician concierge practice, and our goal is to grow to that size.
